How to Break in a Pair of Brogans

In search of the perfect footwear.

Don’t you envy those beautiful worn brogans the “old man” in your company wears?  How’d they get like that? You’re wondering…

1 – Soak your shoes for a full day in a bucket of water.
2 – Put them on and walk around in them for an hour or two.
3 – Let them dry naturally (at least 2 days minimum) and then drop them in a bath of cooking oil – sunflower if you’re watching your cholesterol, and put them back on again.  Squish around outside for another hour (oil will ruin your indoor carpet).
4 – Remove the brogans and put them near some heat – a space heater, fireplace, etc. (this is a great wintertime task).  Be careful they don’t burn.  When they dry, your shoes will look and feel the part of the original cheap and poorly made square toed brogan.
5 – Walk around for one full day with them on.

*Disclaimer – Not responsible if this ruins your brogans.  Attempt at your own risk.
